How to blur your house on Google Street View
By HideMyHome · Updated October 12, 2026
Can you hide your home on Street View?
Yes. Google accepts house-blur requests from owners or tenants with proof of address. Applied blurs are permanent. Check Google’s current home-blur instructions (opens in a new tab) before requesting a change.
Request a blur directly with Google
- Find your home in Google Maps and open the Street View image of the correct building.
- Choose “Report a problem” and select the home-blur option.
- Confirm your authority, enter the residential address, and upload the required proof of address.
- Review the image and form, then submit. Watch for Google’s requests for additional information.
Google asks for proof matching the residence. Its instructions say to redact personal details while leaving the address and document date visible; do not upload government ID. Follow the current document and file requirements in the linked instructions.
What a Street View blur changes
Check who owns the image. Google-contributed imagery and photographs uploaded by other people follow different reporting rules. See Google’s guidance for 360 imagery and Photo Spheres (opens in a new tab). An applied blur cannot be removed from that image. If someone else contributed the photo, use the relevant report process.
| Your concern | Relevant HideMyHome service |
|---|---|
| The street-level view of the building | Street View blur request on the US site |
| Interior listing photos on Zillow or Redfin | Separate listing removal requests |
| An address or map pin remains searchable | Street View blur does not delete the address or map pin |
| Satellite imagery or public records | Outside the Street View blur service |
For example, if both a street-level image and old interior listing photos expose your home, one request does not cover both sources. Treat them as separate tasks. This example describes service scope, not a completed customer case.
Do it yourself or use HideMyHome
You can submit the request directly to Google without hiring HideMyHome. Our fee pays for assistance: checking the correct building and submitting the request on your behalf. It is not a fee charged by Google, and paying us does not override Google’s review or documentation requirements.
| US plan | One-time price | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Street View only | $39.99 USD | Google Street View home blur request |
| Listings only | $49.99 USD | Listing removal requests on major real estate sites |
| Listings + Street View | $79.99 USD | Listing removal requests and a Street View home blur request |
The Canada site offers listing removal requests for $69.99 CAD once. Street View plans are offered on the US site. All plans are one-time requests, with no subscription or ongoing monitoring. Each platform decides what it changes.
For listing-photo requests, start with the Zillow guide or Redfin guide. For the difference between making requests yourself and hiring help, read DIY versus a listing removal service.
Before you decide
Choose the source you actually want changed. If the concern is an old listing, the listings plan fits that request; if it is only Street View, the Street View plan fits. A combined plan is useful when you want both requests handled. Ask us about your situation before paying if the source or scope is unclear.
Google controls review timing and the outcome. A paid assistance service should not be interpreted as a guaranteed approval date. Save the request confirmation and check the public image after receiving an update.
Have HideMyHome send the requests
HideMyHome listing removal requests cost $49.99 USD once, or $69.99 CAD on the Canada site. You enter the property address, confirm you are the owner, pay once, and sign an authorization. We contact major real estate sites and ask them to remove listing photos, price history, and property details. There is no subscription and no monitoring plan. Each site decides what it will change.
US customers can also choose Street View only ($39.99 USD) or Listings + Street View ($79.99 USD). Google reviews blur requests and may require proof of address. An applied blur is permanent. Compare Street View options and limits.
